I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The house is beautifully restored and has a lot of character. The location is fantastic, right in the center of town but still quiet. The walled garden is lovely, and I wish I could have spent more time there. The owners were thoughtful and left wine and milk for me. Highly recommended!
Nothing negative to say.

The rooms at The Old Clock Makers in Ashbourne are cozy and comfortable with a vintage charm that instantly makes you feel at home. The bathrooms with a bath or shower are a total win for a relaxin' soak at the end of a long day.
Personally, I found the showers a tad small, but others might still find it invigorating.

I absolutely adored the charming decor of the hotel, especially the beautiful antique clocks and vintage furniture. It really added to the character of the place and made me feel like I was stepping back in time. The general areas were well-maintained and spotlessly clean, making it a comfortable and pleasant environment for senior guests like myself. Additionally, I was delighted to find that the hotel had taken into consideration the needs of elderly guests, with handrails and stairgates in place to assist with the steep stairs. It was thoughtful and accommodating, ensuring that I felt safe and supported throughout my stay.
If I were to suggest one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, it would be to have a dedicated staff member available to provide assistance and guidance specifically for elderly guests. Sometimes, the children working there seemed busy attending to other guests and while they were polite and helpful, it would have been nice to have someone who could focus solely on the needs of senior visitors.

The Old Clock Makers exceeded my expectations in many ways. the attention to detail and the welcoming touches made my stay incredibly special. the quirky and comfortable decor, along with the well-equipped facilities, provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. As a light sleeper, I greatly appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the absence of any noise disturbances. the central location was also a major plus, allowing me to easily explore the area and take advantage of all the nearby attractions.

What an incredible stay! the house was beautifully restored and oh-so-comfortable. the location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of town but still peaceful. We loved the little touches, like the Christmas decorations and the welcome hamper with mulled wine and delicious treats. the house was incredibly well-equipped, we had everything we needed. And the walled garden was just delightful - a perfect spot to relax and unwind. a truly memorable Easter break!
Now, I have to be honest here, there were a couple of minor downsides. the beds were a tad short, especially for taller folks like my hubby.

We stayed in a beautiful 350-year-old house in a fantastic central location. the walled garden was a lovely addition. the owners left wine and milk, a thoughtful touch. the room decor was exceptional and eclectic, giving it a boutique feeling. It felt like going through the looking glass with Alice.
The stairs were steep and the low ceiling on the top floor was a bit inconvenient for taller individuals.
